Look for bright coloured firm strawberries with no soft patches or blemishes. Strawberries can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Wash strawberries before slicing away their green stalks to prevent water from penetrating the fruit. Place into a bowl of water then lift out and dráin on paper towels.
